My Annual Boys Ski Trip

I just got back from a week with my pals skiing in Canada.

Wow did we score, we got 4 feet of snow in 5 days. Bonus. By Day 5 it  was so deep it was regularly flying into your face and over your head. It meant we got to stay on the steepest of slopes and pound freshies all day!

I was with my cousin, one of my brothers and another old pal. Just 4 of us, a good number for a ski trip. We hit Castle Mountain & Fernie. Two great resorts when they get the snow. Possibly the best tree skiing available in North America.

As well we caught 2 local hockey games, partied a bit & somehow even ended up singing karaoke at one point.

Ski Tour

After 5 days inbounds my brother Bob and I left the boys and we did a 2 day ski tour into a hut in the Rockies about 8 miles up & away from the nearest road. Pretty cool spot to go . It's called the Elizabeth Parker Hut near Lake Ohara on the Continental divide between BC & Alberta. It's managed by the Alpine Club of Canada and just $30 /night. There's bunk beds & a wood stove , no other heat or running water.
