As the name suggests, Wave boards are designed primarily for
wavesailing. But some of the characteristics that make a
good wave board also makes a great board for other uses.
Wave boards are also the best choice for high wind "bump
& jump" sailing in windy places like the Gorge or Maui.
Bigger boards are used for bigger sailors and lighter wind.
Smaller boards work best for higher wind speeds and smaller
sailors.
Bic Boards:
Bic boards have an ASA/fiberglass/epoxy
skin, with an EPS
core which makes them stiff and reasonably light. This
combination skin makes them more durable.
Angulo, RRD, Quatro Boards:
All are known as high performance board manufacturers, built using
top of the line materials (epoxy/fiberglass/Kevlar/carbon),
and sandwich
construction skin over a light weight EPS
core. These boards are among the strongest, stiffest, high
performance boards built today.
The different shades of color
represent different levels of wind velocity: the windier the
conditions, the lighter the color.
