Sunday morning I was sitting on the tarp in front of my RV enjoying the warmth of the morning sun. I looked up the beach and saw a sailor with a very long face walking towards the Ezzy flags which were swaying in the gentle morning breeze. "Good morning, do you have any 5.2's for rent" he said. "Yesterday I crashed and went through my (other brand) 5.2. I only have one more day to sail before I head home and have heard that Ezzy's are great sails". It was his lucky day since I had a 5.2 he could demo at no charge...his long face turned into a smile. I rigged the 5.2 with him pointing out how easy it is to set the downhaul and outhaul since the instructions are printed on each sail. He was impressed with the small cord attached to the clew for setting the boom length; no more guess work in setting the outhaul. As for Ezzy's being great sails, I pointed him towards the water and said he could make up his own mind.

Three hours later, Phil from Alberta Canada walked up the beach and set his rig on the tarp. As I walked up, he was staring at the sail slowly shaking his head from side to side. "My sail is so twitchy compared to this Ezzy. It's like the Ezzy Wave sails have cams, the draft is locked in place and doesn't move in the gusts. I'm always having to concentrate and continually sheet in and out with my (other brand)". I love to send people out who are trying an Ezzy for the first time, I don't have to say much because the sails do the talking on the water.

This past week saw three no wind days, and even some RAIN on Tuesday. But Thursday the skies cleared and the wind returned with a 5.2 warm up for the following 4 days of 4.7 and 4.2. It looks like we are into another Baja northerly pattern for the beginning of this week. I did a quick count the past two afternoons and there have been between 50 and 60 sails on the water. This is definitely peak season, so remember to look before you jibe! This weekend is the first La Ventana Kite Fest, so it should be an interesting event. Good sailing, Gary
