A+	Brand new, never been used.
A	Great shape, practically new with perhaps a few scratches.
B+	Good shape A sail would have a few wrinkles. A sailboard would be solid & professionally repaired. A boom still adjusts well, a few nicks in grip.
B	Still in good shape A sail is starting to show signs of use. A sailboard would have some fading of paint, repaired dings. A boom would have a few rips in grip, adjusts O.K.
C	O.K., but has been used quite a bit a sail would possibly have a few repairs. A sailboard would be fairly well used, maybe a bit soft under heels, discoloration of foam, repaired dings. A boom would have a fairly worn grip, but still adjusts O.K.
D	Usable but... A sail would have a few loose stitches, repairs, wrinkles, not great looking. A board that have been repaired poorly, heavy, pressure dents, could have been buckled before. A boom would have a very worn grip, could be hard to adjust.
