RRD BACKGROUND
Roberto Ricci has been building sailboards for over 10 years.
Based in Italy, Roberto also spends a great deal of time in Maui finding inspiration for
his new designs. Roberto Ricci Design sailboards are now in their tenth year as a major
production brand. The boards are produced in Thailand in the same factory as most other
seamless production boards (Naish, Mistral, JP, Fanatic, etc). Josh
Angulo won the DaKine Pro/Am competition sailing a stock RRD 250 in
2000. That wass
the first time a production board has won a major Maui wave contest.
The company's motto is "non-stop research and development" and
they are continually pushing the limits, enhancing both their designs
and materials. A few of the current team riders are: Kauli Seadi, Jace Panebianco,
Keith Teboul, Patrick Bergeron and Francisco Porcella.
