North Midi Wing Foil Board

A fast, narrow mid-length crossover built for efficient takeoffs and smooth connections between disciplines.

The North Midi Wing Foil Board combines a slender surf-inspired outline with a low-drag semi-displacement hull to generate speed efficiently before takeoff. Designed for intermediate through expert riders, the Midi can extend your light-wind range while maintaining low swing weight for carving and maneuverability. Six sizes cover wing foil, parawing, Foil Assist, prone surf foil, downwind runs, and SUP paddle-up use.

  • Full Carbon PVC Sandwich
  • Low-Drag Mid-Length Shape
  • DropBox Foil Tracks
  • Multiple Strap Positions
  • 44L–96L Range

Why Choose the North Midi?

Fast, Efficient Takeoffs

The narrow outline and semi-displacement hull reduce drag before takeoff, helping the board accelerate and transition progressively onto foil with less pumping effort.

More Light-Wind Range

Efficient glide helps riders reach foil speed with a smaller wing or foil while making better use of marginal wind and lower-energy conditions.

Low Swing Weight

The optimized length-to-width ratio provides useful glide without making the board feel cumbersome once airborne, supporting responsive carving and technical maneuvers.

True Crossover Versatility

Use the Midi for wing and parawing sessions, Foil Assist runs, prone foiling on smaller sizes, or SUP paddle-ups on the larger boards.

Technical Features

Full Carbon PVC Sandwich

A full carbon outer shell surrounds high-density closed-cell PVC foam across the deck and bottom for stiffness, strength, and impact resistance.

E-Glass Foil-Mount Reinforcement

The foil-track area uses E-glass reinforcement to support the concentrated loads generated through the mast and top plate.

Mid-Length Surf Outline

The slender, surfboard-inspired shape balances waterline length, low drag, stability, and maneuverability without the swing weight of a full downwind board.

Medium Rocker

A moderate rocker line supports efficient pumping and acceleration while keeping enough nose lift for chop and touchdown recovery.

Semi-Displacement Hull

The low-drag hull moves efficiently before takeoff, while a subtle V-shaped contour progressively separates the water for faster release.

Soft, Rounded Rails

Rounded rail transitions help the board reconnect with the water smoothly, reducing catching or stalling during low turns and touchdowns.

DropBox Fast Foil Mounting

Open-entry foil tracks allow preassembled screws and T-nuts to drop into place, slide to the preferred position, and tighten without feeding hardware through the full track.

Customizable Strap Inserts

Centerline, V-strap, and offset front-foot positions allow regular or goofy riders to personalize their stance. Footstraps are sold separately.

Max-Traction Deck Pad

A non-abrasive deck grip includes tactile and visual stance references, plus a raised outer edge that helps with foot placement and balance in chop.

GORE Two-Way Vent

The factory-fitted waterproof vent automatically equalizes internal pressure caused by temperature changes and requires no manual adjustment.

Integrated Carry Handle

A recessed underside handle provides a balanced carrying position with or without the foil installed, leaving your other hand free for a wing or paddle.

Digital Product Passport

A unique QR code provides product registration, detailed equipment information, Lost & Found services, and theft-protection benefits.

5'2" 52 L Over 95 kg 85 kg
5'4" 60 L 95 kg

Important: North’s “novice” designation for the 6'4" applies specifically to Foil Assist. The Midi’s narrow outline means it should not automatically be treated as a conventional beginner wing foil board.

Choosing Your North Midi Size

5'0–5'4

The 44L, 52L, and 60L sizes are low-volume crossover boards for skilled riders prioritizing prone foiling, Foil Assist, low swing weight, and compact maneuverability.

5'8 / 70L

A compact wing and parawing option for lighter or advanced riders who want efficient glide without moving to a longer, higher-volume platform.

6'0 / 82L

A versatile mid-range choice for wing, parawing, and Foil Assist riders who want useful light-wind efficiency with responsive handling once airborne.

6'4 / 96L

The highest-volume Midi provides more flotation for larger riders, SUP paddle-ups, and Foil Assist progression while retaining a narrow 21-inch outline.

Sizing consideration: Volume alone does not determine stability. The narrow Midi rewards balance and efficient technique, so riders transitioning from a wide compact board may prefer more volume than usual.

Foil and Footstrap Setup

Foil Compatibility

The DropBox uses industry-standard 90mm track spacing and supports common 165 × 90mm top-plate systems. Its extended adjustment range allows mast-position tuning for different disciplines and rider weights.

Multiple Stance Options

Ride strapless or choose centered, V-shaped, or offset front-footstrap positions for jumping, wave riding, and more connected foil control.
