Ezzy Lion 2026 Windsurf Sail
Fast, stable freeride power with a narrow sleeve—rig it 2-cam, 1-cam, or no-cam.
The Ezzy Lion 2026 is a high-performance freeride sail designed to deliver strong drive and speed with less fuss than a full race sail. A narrow mast sleeve keeps waterstarts and uphauling easier than wide-sleeve race rigs, while a convertible cam setup lets you tune the feel: run it as a two-cam sail for maximum stability, switch to single-cam for a lighter feel, or go no-cam for the simplest handling.

Why Riders Choose the Lion
Power + Control, Without the Hassle
The Lion is built to feel fast and stable at speed, but still manageable for real freeride sailing. It aims for “race-sail efficiency” with easier handling and simpler rigging.
Narrow Sleeve = Easier Waterstarts
Compared to wide-sleeve cambered sails, the Lion’s narrow sleeve keeps the rig feeling lighter in the water and helps make uphauling and waterstarts less work—especially after long sessions.
Stable Drive for Early Planing
A deeper profile above the boom is designed to deliver early planing power and steady pull. The result is a freeride sail that stays composed when you’re fully powered and going fast.
Feels Light Even After Hours
Lightweight scrim reinforcements are designed not to absorb water, helping the sail stay light in the hands through long sessions and repeated falls or waterwork.
Features
Convertible Cam Setup
Run the Lion as a 2-cam for maximum profile stability, switch to 1-cam for a lighter, freer feel, or go no-cam for the simplest handling and easiest rotation.
Narrow Sleeve Freeride Efficiency
The narrow mast sleeve is a key part of the Lion concept: more efficient than no-cam freeride sails, but far less bulky than a true race sleeve.
Lightweight Strength Materials
Built using lightweight scrim laminates and Dyneema X-ply for strong, long-life construction with minimal weight. Technora-reinforced panels are used in high-stress zones to support durability.
RBS Epoxy Battens
High-strength epoxy battens support stable shape at speed and long-term structure—built for real use, not disposable “season-only” durability.
Removable Tack Pulley
The tack pulley can be removed and swapped for a D-ring when using a Duotone ratchet extension—a small detail that makes rigging compatibility easier.
Factory Rigged, Tuned & Checked
Every Lion is rigged and tuned before leaving the factory. Panels, battens, and overall shape are inspected at full rig so it feels right from session one.

Mast Info
Matching the Mast Matters (Especially with Cams)
Because the Lion can be rigged with cams, mast choice influences rotation, stability, and the “locked-in” feel. Following the suggested mast target in the chart is the fastest way to get the intended performance.
Extra Cams Included
Extra cams are included so you can better match your mast and fine-tune rotation and feel—especially useful if you are using a different brand mast that is close to constant curve.
Constant Curve Guidance
Ezzy mast bend guidance is typically described as constant curve, with bend targets around 75–79% tip and 62–65% base (bend percentages relative to midpoint bend). This helps maintain the designed luff shape and twist.
RDM vs SDM
Follow the recommended mast for your sail size first. If you’re optimizing for the easiest waterstarts and handling, pair the Lion with a setup that keeps overall rig weight low and tuning repeatable (calibrated rigging makes this easy).
Rigging Guide
Choose Your Cam Setup
One of the Lion’s strengths is adjustability. Pick the feel you want for the day:
- 2-cam: maximum stability and locked-in power at speed
- 1-cam: a lighter feel with solid profile support
- No-cam: simplest rotation and easiest handling
Pulley / D-Ring Compatibility
The tack pulley is removable. If you’re using a Duotone ratchet extension, swapping to a D-ring can make rigging smoother and reduce clutter at the tack.
Calibrated Rigging
Downhaul Markers Save Time
The Lion’s downhaul guide is designed to remove guesswork: downhaul until the marker aligns with the bottom of your mast. Clew indicators make it easier to set boom length and fine-tune outhaul.
Factory-Calibrated Consistency
Because each Lion is rigged, tuned, and inspected at full rig before it ships, the reference marks are designed to be repeatable. Once you find your favorite tune, you can reproduce it quickly—session after session.
