Performance Freestyle / Freeride

2025 North Focus Hybrid Twintip Kiteboard

Explosive pop, dynamic flex and secure edge hold for powered freestyle riding with boots or conventional bindings.

The 2025 North Focus Hybrid is built for riders who want to load hard, release cleanly and land with control. Its more aggressive flex pattern, squarer outline and stiffened tail generate powerful flatwater pop, while the center spine, double concave and full-length rail channels reduce landing impact and keep the board tracking securely. Hybrid carbon reinforcement adds fast response without the unforgiving feel of a full-carbon freestyle board.

  • Hybrid Carbon Construction

Why You’ll Love It

Explosive Flatwater Pop

The stiff backbone, thicker tail and progressive rocker let you load significant rail pressure before releasing into powered freestyle tricks.

Dynamic Hybrid Flex

Triaxial fiberglass and 3DY carbon reinforcement produce fast rebound and precise response while remaining more forgiving on the knees than a full-carbon layup.

Secure Edge Hold

Full-length rail channels and the flatter, squarer outline provide the traction needed to edge harder, control takeoffs and resist unwanted rail release.

Controlled Landings

The double-concave bottom and center spine disperse impact, while wide square tips improve tracking and stability when landing with speed.

Technical Features

Triaxial Hybrid Carbon Construction

Fibers oriented at 0 and ±45 degrees combine with carbon reinforcement to increase overall and torsional stiffness while preserving controlled flex.

3DY-Beam Carbon Reinforcement

Unidirectional carbon follows the primary load paths, transferring rider pressure efficiently from the bindings to the board’s edge.

Squarer, Flatter Outline

Wide square tips increase stiffness, grip and tracking to support aggressive freestyle takeoffs and maintain control through powered landings.

Stiffened Backbone and Tail

Additional core thickness through the tail creates a more powerful platform for loading and releasing the board in flatwater conditions.

Double-Concave Bottom

The double concave and center spine break surface tension during touchdown, helping reduce impact loads and stabilize landings.

Full-Length Rail Channels

Channels create a secondary gripping edge outside the fin area for additional hold, improved load distribution and softer landings.

Progressive Rocker

The progressive rocker supports powered freestyle takeoffs, smoother handling through chop and controlled landings at speed.

Paulownia Wood Core

The lightweight, impact-resistant core is individually profiled to maintain consistent flex and performance across the complete size range.

FlipTech Mounting System

Centerline inserts let you reverse the bindings and use the opposite edge as your primary heelside rail, extending the board’s usable lifespan.

Boot or Binding Compatible

Ride the Focus with North Fix Boots for maximum connection or pair it with Flex or Flex Pro bindings for easier entry and greater freedom of movement.

Choosing Your Focus Size

133 × 40 cm

Designed for riders under 70 kg who want a compact board with quick handling, precise edging and low swing weight for rotations.

136 × 41 cm

Recommended for riders around 55–80 kg. A responsive smaller all-round size for powered freestyle and freeride sessions.

139 × 42 cm

Recommended for riders around 65–90 kg. The balanced middle-to-large size combines dependable pop with added landing support.

142 × 43 cm

Recommended for riders around 75–110 kg. The largest size provides heavier riders with the surface area needed for planing, loading and stable landings.

Between sizes? Choose smaller for faster handling and powered conditions. Choose larger for earlier planing, more landing stability or if you ride boots and prefer additional board beneath your feet.

Frequently Asked Questions

What riding style is the Focus designed for?

The Focus is primarily a performance freestyle board, but its dynamic flex and binding compatibility also make it suitable for powered freeriding and big-air tricks.

Can the Focus be ridden with boots?

Yes. It is engineered for use with North Fix Boots and can also be ridden with conventional Flex or Flex Pro foot pads and straps.

Is it suitable for beginners?

The aggressive flex and squared freestyle outline are better suited to intermediate and advanced riders. Beginners will generally progress more comfortably on a softer freeride board.

Are bindings included?

No. The board includes fins, a handle and accessory hardware. Boots or foot-pad-and-strap bindings are purchased separately.

How does it differ from the North Atmos?

The Focus has a squarer outline, stiffer tail and more aggressive freestyle flex. The Atmos has a more rounded, freeride-focused shape designed for carving, boosting and everyday comfort.

Does the Focus have a volume specification?

No. North does not publish volume in liters for its twintips. Select the board using length, width, rider weight, conditions and riding style.
