The North Sonar Carbon Foil Edition is a premium modular foil lower assembly engineered for wing, surf, kite and tow foiling. It combines a lightweight CF72 or CF85 pre-preg carbon mast with North’s C700 carbon fuselage and S270 carbon stabilizer for direct response, reduced swing weight and efficient pumping.
The tapered one-piece mast and GeoLock load-bearing connection create a stiff, connected feel between the board and foil. Add any compatible North Sonar front wing to customize the package for progression, freeride, waves, downwind, speed or tow foiling.

Pre-Preg Carbon Mast
The CF mast uses pre-preg carbon construction for a stiff, lightweight and corrosion-resistant structure. Its direct response helps the rider feel changes in foil pressure immediately when pumping, carving or adjusting ride height.
Tapered One-Piece Design
North tapers the mast profile for efficient load transfer and lower surface friction. The refined one-piece construction reduces unnecessary weight while maintaining strength across multiple foil disciplines.
GeoLock Connection
The tapered GeoLock geometry transfers load across the full mast cross-section instead of relying on the mounting screws alone. This creates a rigid mast-to-fuselage connection designed to feel like one continuous component.
C700 Carbon Fuselage
The 700 mm pre-preg carbon fuselage weighs approximately 50% less than North’s A700 aluminum fuselage while providing comparable strength and stiffness. Its length offers a smooth, predictable pitch response across multiple disciplines.
S270 Carbon Stabilizer
The higher-aspect S270 uses a thin pre-preg carbon profile for control, fast pivoting turns and efficient glide. Its top-mounted position supports clean approaching flow and more manageable recovery when the stabilizer briefly breaches the surface.

Our recommendation: Choose CF72 for prone surf, towing, shallow locations and minimum swing weight. Choose CF85 for general wing foiling, kite foiling and rougher water where additional ride height and banking clearance improve control.
North also produces a separate 95 cm carbon mast, but CF95 is not an option in this Carbon Foil Edition package.

C700 Ride Character
The 700 mm fuselage offers more pitch stability and reaction time than a short, highly maneuverable fuselage. It provides a smooth, forgiving foundation that works across surf, wing, kite and tow foiling.
S270 Ride Character
The S270 balances control and efficiency with quick turning response. It is a versatile stabilizer for riders who want one rear wing to work with multiple Sonar front-wing shapes and sizes.
The front wing determines much of the foil’s lift, speed and turning character. Select a larger Sonar wing for easier takeoff and low-speed stability, or a smaller, higher-aspect wing for more speed and glide.

- The integrated mast plate uses an industry-standard 165 × 90 mm four-bolt mounting pattern.
- The assembly works with North DropBox foil tracks and compatible twin-track foil boards.
- The C700 GeoLock fuselage fits compatible North Sonar carbon and aluminum masts.
- The Carbon Foil Edition accepts compatible North Sonar front wings.
- It is not compatible with AK mast-series components.
- Foil-to-board mounting screws must be purchased separately unless supplied with the board.

Does this package include a front wing?
No. The front wing is deliberately sold separately so the rider can select the Sonar wing that best matches their discipline, weight and preferred speed range.
Is this a mast-only product?
No. The Carbon Foil Edition includes the selected mast, C700 fuselage, S270 stabilizer, covers, hardware, tools and travel bag. North also sells its CF masts separately.
Which mast is best for wing foiling?
CF85 is the recommended all-around wing choice because it provides more clearance in chop, swell and banked turns. CF72 is better for prone surf, shallow water and compact setups.
Why choose carbon instead of aluminum?
Carbon reduces swing weight, resists corrosion and provides more immediate foil feedback. Aluminum costs less and is an excellent choice when durability, progression and value lead the decision.
