Why You’ll Love the ROCKET FREE DW
More Glide Before Takeoff
The long waterline and stretched outline build speed efficiently, helping you lift onto foil with a pocket wing, K-Wing, parawing or paddle.
Stable Through Difficult Starts
Optimized volume, a wider nose and squarer rails provide stability and control during standing, kneeling and paddle-powered starts in chop or marginal power.
Smooth Touchdown Recovery
A rear step, kicktail and efficient bottom shape reduce drag when the board reconnects with the water, helping preserve speed and recover onto foil.
Direct Bamboo-Deck Feel
A strategically placed bamboo deck layer keeps the board light, durable and responsive while maintaining a precise connection between rider and foil.
Technical Features
Elongated Downwind Outline
Extra length and a stretched planform increase waterline efficiency, acceleration and glide compared with a compact conventional wing board.
Optimized Volume Placement
Volume is distributed to support early planing and stable starts without making the board unnecessarily wide or compromising acceleration.
Rear Step and Kicktail
The shaped tail helps the board release cleanly, build speed quickly and recover more smoothly from touchdowns.
Shallow Cockpit
A shallow recessed standing area creates control and leverage underfoot without adding excessive rail thickness or disconnecting the rider from the foil.
Stable Nose and Rails
Compared with the FREE SURF, the FREE DOWNWIND has increased thickness, a wider nose and bottom surface, and squarer rails for easier starts and added stability.
Front-Biased Foil Balance
Slightly front-biased foot pressure preserves the familiar feel of classic F-One boards and helps the rider control acceleration and pitch.
Bamboo Deck Construction
A bamboo layer is used specifically on the deck to maintain low weight while increasing strength and durability through the standing area.
Adjustable Twin-Tracks
Industry-standard 90mm twin-tracks accept four-bolt mast plates and offer enough adjustment range to fine-tune foil position and rider balance.

Which Size Should You Choose?
6'4" — 85L
The most compact and responsive size for lighter or experienced riders who prioritize reduced swing weight and are comfortable with lower volume.
6'8" — 95L
A performance-oriented option that adds useful flotation while maintaining compact handling and efficient acceleration.
7'0" — 104L
The versatile midpoint of the range, balancing glide, manageable dimensions and stability for varied freefly and downwind conditions.
7'4" — 114L
Adds flotation and confidence for larger riders, choppy water and lighter power without sacrificing the board’s narrow, efficient outline.
7'8" — 124L
The most stable and accessible size for riders prioritizing standing starts, SUP foil use, light-wind performance or maximum flotation.
Choosing Between Sizes
Choose more volume for chop, lighter wind, paddle starts and easier recovery. Choose less volume for reduced swing weight and more responsive handling in swell.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a conventional wing foil board?
It can be used with a handheld wing, but its longer, narrower shape is optimized for downwind, pocket-wing, K-Wing, parawing and SUP foil use rather than compact freestyle winging.
Can it be used for SUP foiling?
Yes. F-One specifically positions the FREE DOWNWIND for SUP foiling as well as pocket-wing and K-Wing riding.
Is this the Carbon version?
No. This model uses F-One’s Bamboo Deck Construction. The Carbon version shares the same shape but uses a lighter and stiffer HD Foam Carbon Composite construction.
What foil mounts will fit?
The twin-tracks use standard 90mm spacing and accept hydrofoil masts equipped with a conventional four-bolt top plate.
Does every size have a carry handle?
Yes. F-One lists an integrated carry handle on all five sizes from the 6'4" 85L through the 7'8" 124L.
Is a boardbag included?
F-One does not list a boardbag among the included components. A properly sized foil-board bag should be purchased separately for transport and storage.
