Who Is the North Carve Best For?
- Beginner progression: Not North’s primary beginner recommendation. North’s wind chart is based on intermediate-to-advanced riders, although the brand describes the ride as smoother and more user-friendly for intermediate riders. The Reach is the more general progression choice.
- Freeride: A strong secondary use for riders who prefer fast, light steering, upwind efficiency, manageable power and strapless-friendly hangtime.
- Big air: Capable of boosting with hangtime and catch, but it is not North’s dedicated big air model.
- Freestyle: Best for strapless freestyle, rotations and aerial tricks. North positions the Pulse—not the Carve—as its dedicated freestyle and wakestyle kite.
