The 2025 North Orbit Pro is a high-performance five-strut kite created for intermediate-to-advanced riders pushing into bigger boosts, powered megaloops, double loops and technical Big Air combinations. Its lightweight N-Max2 airframe, higher-aspect segmented arc and five-point pulley-free bridle give it faster steering, more forward flight and a more energetic response than the standard Orbit.
The Orbit Pro is lighter and more competition focused than the standard Dacron Orbit, but it is not the ALUULA version. Riders wanting North’s lightest, stiffest and fastest Orbit should consider the Orbit Ultra.
Choose the Orbit Pro if you already have solid kite control and want to progress from conventional boosting into faster loops, higher-risk rotations and competition-style Big Air. It retains the reassuring canopy support and top-end stability of a five-strut Orbit while reducing weight and increasing steering response.
Compared with the standard Orbit, the Pro flies farther forward, turns faster and gives a more direct, energetic feel. Compared with the ALUULA Orbit Ultra, the Pro is not as light, stiff or razor-fast, but it delivers serious competition performance through a premium polyester airframe that is less extreme than North’s top-tier ALUULA construction.
Pro identifies North’s lightweight competition construction. The 2025 Orbit Pro uses an N-Max2 woven-polyester leading edge and strut material. North states that N-Max2 is 8% lighter than standard 156gsm Dacron while providing improved consistency, stretch resistance and dynamic steering.
This 8% figure applies to the airframe material rather than the weight of the complete kite. The Orbit Pro also removes or reduces selected reinforcements, hardware and inflation components to lower swing weight.

North’s chart is based on an average-sized intermediate-to-advanced rider using a twintip. North advises lighter riders to subtract approximately five knots from the listed high end. Actual range changes with rider weight, board size, water conditions and ability.
