Ezzy Wave 2026 Windsurf Sail

40+ years of wave-sail evolution: light in the hands, steady in gusts, and built to last.

The Ezzy Wave 2026 is a high-control wave sail developed for real surf conditions—gusty wind, heavy water, and the kind of sessions where durability matters as much as handling. If you want a wave sail that stays calm when the wind turns on, depowers instantly, and still delivers forward drive for speed and projection, the Wave is one of the most confidence-inspiring choices in the category.

  • One of the Lightest Wave Sails
  • Reduced Luff Curve Stability
  • Fast Depower + Clean Rotation
  • Extended Clew on ≤4.0
  • Dyneema X-Ply + High-Strength Scrims
  • Calibrated Rigging Marks

Why the Ezzy Wave Belongs in Your Quiver

Born for Serious Waves

Developed in Maui’s demanding wave environment, the Wave has been refined for decades with a clear goal: reliable control in powerful conditions—where a twitchy sail isn’t an option.

Control Without Feeling Heavy

The Wave is famous for being exceptionally light for a true wave sail. That lower swing weight helps your rig react quicker, feel more neutral on the wave face, and stay less tiring over long sessions.

Built for Wipeouts and Repeat Sessions

Reinforced materials and thoughtful construction details are aimed at real-world survival: reefy entries, shorebreak impacts, sun exposure, and the kind of abuse wave sailing delivers.

Rig Once, Repeat Every Time

Calibrated rigging reference marks help you lock in the feel you like—fast—so you can spend less time tuning on the beach and more time on the water.

Features

Lightweight Handling

Designed to be among the lightest wave sails available, translating into quicker reactions, easier maneuvering, and a more responsive feel in every carve, snap, and transition.

Power + Control (Not Either/Or)

Built for confidence in demanding surf, the Wave balances forward drive with stability—so you can accelerate when you want it and stay composed when the wind spikes.

Reduced Luff Curve for Locked-In Stability

A refined reduced luff curve helps the sail drive forward while staying settled in gusts—noticeable through bottom turns, exits, and high-speed reach sections.

Faster Depower + Cleaner Rotation

Batten placement is tuned so the sail releases power quickly when you sheet out and rotates smoothly through flips—making jibes and wave transitions feel more automatic.

Extra Stability on Smaller Sizes (≤ 4.0)

Sizes 4.0 and smaller use an extended clew concept to improve balance in high wind—especially helpful for jumps, landings, and staying comfortable when it’s fully lit.

Larger Window for Better Vision

An expanded window improves sightlines down the line and across the wave face—reducing blind spots and helping you commit faster in critical sections.

Bombproof Materials

Built with Dyneema X-ply and high-strength scrim yarns to support lower weight and long-term durability, so the sail stays trustworthy when the conditions get serious.

Quality You Can Rely On

Peace of mind matters in waves. A sail that holds its shape and withstands real use lets you sail more aggressively—because your gear feels solid when it counts.

Windance note: If you’re building a wave quiver and want a sail that stays calm in gusts, depowers fast, and survives hard use, the Ezzy Wave is one of the most “set it and send it” options we carry.

Mast Info

Recommended Ezzy Masts

The mast recommendations in the table are for Ezzy Ho‘okipa and Ezzy Legacy masts. Matching the recommended Ezzy mast helps you access the full intended feel and makes calibrated rigging marks line up cleanly.

Mast Bend Curve Guidance

Ezzy mast bend curves are described as constant curve with tip: 75%–79% and base: 62%–65%. (These are bend percentages relative to midpoint bend—not carbon content.)

Using Other RDM/SDM Masts

The Ezzy Wave can be rigged successfully on many other quality RDM and SDM masts. If your mast differs from the recommended Ezzy mast, you can still get consistent tuning by calibrating the downhaul gauge once (see Calibrated Rigging).

Rigging Guide

Rigging PDFs (Optional for Your Store)

Ezzy provides two rigging guides split by sail size range: 2.8–5.5 and 5.8 & 6.3. If you upload those PDFs to Shopify (Files) or attach them via a “Resources” tab, you can link them here.

Want me to wire these buttons to your actual Shopify file URLs? Paste the two file links and I’ll drop them in.

Quick Setup Philosophy

The Wave is designed for repeatable tuning: set downhaul to your preferred mark, then fine-tune outhaul for feel. Small adjustments make a noticeable difference—perfect for dialing control vs. power on the beach.

Calibrated Rigging

Rigged. Tuned. Verified.

Every Ezzy Wave is pre-rigged and tuned at the factory, with downhaul settings measured so your setup is precise from the very first session. You simply downhaul until the mast base aligns with your preferred setting.

Downhaul settings:
Max strong wind / maximum control  •  Mid all-around performance  •  Min 1 early planing in light wind  •  Min 2 extra power in marginal wind

How It Works (Recommended Mast)

If you’re using the recommended Ezzy mast, rigging is simple:

  1. Downhaul until the bottom of the mast lines up with your chosen mark (Max / Mid / Min).
  2. That’s it—hit the water, then micro-adjust outhaul for feel if needed.

No Recommended Mast? Calibrate Once.

If you’re on a different mast, you can still use the gauge accurately by setting it one time:

  1. Set your mast extension to a medium starting height.
  2. Insert mast fully (ensure it sits above the battens). Apply no outhaul yet.
  3. Downhaul slowly while watching the front of the foot batten.
  4. Stop when the front of the foot batten “pops” to the side of the mast—this is your medium wind reference.
  5. Move the downhaul gauge so the Mid mark aligns with the bottom of your mast.
  6. From then on, downhaul until the gauge aligns with your mast base for repeatable tuning.
