View full detailsWelcome to Windance, where we specialize in all things foiling. If you're looking to up your game and ride the waves like a boss, you've come to the right place.
Foiling is the latest craze in water sports, and Windance is the place to go for all your foiling needs. By attaching a hydrofoil to a board, surfers can glide across the water at up to 25 mph speeds. Several types of Foiling include wing foiling, surf foiling, kite foiling, windsurf foiling, wake foiling and SUP foiling. Each is suited to different conditions and skill levels. At Windance, we offer a wide range of foiling gear to suit every type of rider.
Wing Foiling
The mother of all foiling types is wing foiling! When a hydrofoil is attached to a wing foil board, the wing generates lift and pulls while the foil creates tons of speed. As a result, wingfoilers have the freedom to speed across the water and perform aerial tricks. Wing foiling is incredibly popular because it is a beautiful marriage of windsurfing, kiteboarding, and foiling all in one.
Wake Foiling
Wake foiling is a water sport where you attach a hydrofoil to a wakeboard or a special wake foil board and use the wake generated by a boat to lift off the water surface and glide above it. This allows the rider to perform aerial tricks and maneuvers. Wake foiling is a popular activity among boat enthusiasts, as it can be enjoyed in many different bodies of water, and it can be done behind any type of boat.
Kite Foiling
You have kite foiling when you attach a hydrofoil to a kiteboard that has some volume. The kite generates lift while the foil creates speed. As a result, kite foilers have the freedom to speed across the water and perform aerial tricks. Kite foiling is incredibly popular because it is a beautiful marriage of surfing, kiteboarding, and foiling all in one.
Windsurf Foiling
Here's a style that has had some major upgrades lately. The Windsurf foiling sport, also known as wind foiling, is for water sports junkies ready for a new challenge. Windsurf foiling involves using a hydrofoil attached to a windsurf board to harness the power of the wind. The foil lifts the board out of the water, and the rider sails at high speeds and performs bodacious aerial tricks.
Surf Foiling
This is one of the most difficult styles of foiling. It involves using a hydrofoil attached to - yes, you guessed it - a surfboard. The foil lifts the board out of the water, propelling the surfer across the water's surface. Riders love this foil because waves typically too small can be surfed; a foil board is much stiffer, has a more connected feel and generates tons of momentum when pumping. This type of foiling is really meant for advanced surfers, allowing them to experience surfing like never before.
SUP Foiling
You may know SUP foiling as stand-up paddleboard foiling. SUP foiling is not usually for beginner foilers but is an epic next step for paddleboarders. It combines Foiling and paddleboarding with a hydrofoil attached to a stand-up paddleboard. The foil lifts the board out of the water, and the rider can effortlessly paddle at high speeds and even ride small waves. SUP foiling is an excellent way for those stand-up paddleboarders to add a new thrill in a truly unique way.
Regardless of the type of water you're riding, Foiling is a blast! It can add a thrilling new element to your surfing, kiteboarding, windsurfing, or stand-up paddleboarding experience.
At Windance, we have foiling gear to suit every surfer's needs. From beginner to advanced, we've got you covered. Our team of foiling enthusiasts can help you find the sickest foil, board, and accessories to help you shred like a pro.
But don't just take our word for it - listen to what some of the biggest sports names say about foiling. Kelly Slater, 11-time world champion, says, "Foiling has opened up a whole new world of surfing. It's like a whole new dimension out there." And big wave legend Laird Hamilton adds, "Foiling is the future of surfing. It's going to change the game."
We couldn't agree more!
Of course, learning to foil will take time and practice - but if you love the thrill and freedom of water sports, it will be well spent. Understandably, it's not just as easy as hopping on a board and paddling out. There are dozens (if not hundreds) of great foiling videos to get you started.
