2025 CORE Halo ExoTex Wing

Smooth, sporty performance with a forgiving Dacron airframe and seamless carbon Bionic Boom.

The CORE Halo brings much of the speed and precision of the Halo Pro into a more accessible, durable and forgiving all-around wing. Positioned between the CORE XC and Halo Pro, it combines an intelligently reinforced ExoTex Dacron airframe, CoreTex 2 canopy and one-piece carbon Bionic Boom. The result is comfortable control, smooth power and confident performance across freeride, freestyle, waves and freefly sessions.

Why Choose the CORE Halo?

Choose the Halo if you want a premium all-around wing that feels faster and more precise than a conventional Dacron wing without moving all the way to the price, extreme stiffness and demanding response of an ALUULA performance model. Its continuous carbon boom allows natural hand movement, while the tuned ExoTex airframe softens gusts and keeps the wing comfortable during long sessions.

Windance recommendation: The Halo is an excellent choice for riders who want one sporty wing for freeride, jumping, wave riding and freefly. Progressing riders will appreciate its stability and smooth power, while experienced riders can take advantage of its speed, lift and direct boom control.

How It Rides

Smooth, Forgiving Power

The ExoTex airframe maintains efficient canopy tension while retaining enough controlled flex to absorb gusts. Power delivery feels smooth and manageable rather than abrupt.

Fast Freeride Performance

A thin leading edge, high canopy tension and low-drag profile help the Halo accelerate efficiently, maintain speed and drive upwind without requiring an overly physical riding style.

Comfortable Boom Control

The curved Bionic Boom promotes a relaxed arm and wrist position. Its continuous grip lets you adjust hand placement instantly while cruising, pumping or preparing for a maneuver.

Freestyle Lift and Control

Direct steering, a stable profile and efficient lift support jumping, rotations and wing passes. The open boom area also makes hand changes more intuitive than fixed handles.

Wave and Freefly Handling

Slim tips improve maneuverability, while the stiff front handle and integrated pistol-grip position provide secure control when the wing is flagged out on a wave or downwind run.

Efficient Low-End

The stable airframe and responsive boom help translate pumping input into forward drive. The 6.0m provides the most low-end in the Halo range, although this is not CORE’s dedicated ultra-light-wind wing.

ExoTex Dacron Airframe

The Halo uses CORE’s Intelligent ExoTex Triad construction. This is a carefully tuned Dacron airframe—not an ALUULA airframe. Different ExoTex materials are placed according to the loads experienced by each part of the wing:

  • Center leading edge: Double-layer ExoTex 2 handles the wing’s highest structural loads.
  • Leading-edge span: Stiffer, lower-stretch ExoTex HD improves rigidity and control.
  • Wing tips: ExoTex 2 introduces controlled flex for smoother handling and gust response.

This construction gives the Halo a thinner leading edge than the XC while remaining only slightly thicker than the Halo Pro. It delivers a useful balance of stiffness, weight, durability and forgiving feedback.

Key Construction Details

CoreTex 2 Canopy

Durable Triple Ripstop canopy material provides strong tear and UV resistance. Radial paneling follows the wing’s primary load paths to limit stretch and preserve efficient power delivery.

One-Piece Carbon Boom

The seamless Bionic Boom combines the precise control and unlimited hand positioning of a boom with an ergonomic shape designed to reduce wrist and arm fatigue.

Optimized Strut Geometry

The profile is based on the Halo Pro, with boom and strut angles designed to keep the rider’s arms comfortably extended even when riding at speed.

Glass Battens

Glass battens stabilize the trailing edge and help the canopy retain a clean, controlled profile when powered or travelling at higher speeds.

Improved Windows

Redesigned windows improve visibility around other riders and obstacles, adding confidence in waves and crowded launch areas.

Fast Inflation and Pack-Down

CORE’s valve system supports efficient inflation, rapid deflation and convenient packing after your session.

CORE Wing Comparison

Model Construction Grip System Riding Character Choose It If...
CORE XC ExoTex 2 Dacron airframe and CoreTex 2 canopy Extra-long rigid handles Durable, direct and easy-to-control all-around performance You prefer separate handles, straightforward power and a durable standard construction.
CORE Halo ExoTex 2 / ExoTex HD Dacron airframe and CoreTex 2 canopy Seamless carbon Bionic Boom Smooth, fast and sporty with forgiving gust response You want premium boom control and high performance without the price or extreme stiffness of an ALUULA wing.
CORE Halo Pro Premium ALUULA airframe and CoreTex 2 canopy Full carbon boom Lighter, stiffer and more direct, with maximum speed, lift and drift You are an experienced rider prioritizing minimum weight and uncompromising performance over price and forgiveness.

Who Is It Best For?

  • Beginner progression: Stable and forgiving enough for a progressing rider who wants a wing they will not quickly outgrow.
  • Freeride: Its strongest all-around category, with comfortable boom control, efficient speed and smooth power.
  • Wave riding and freefly: Slim tips, stable flagged-out handling and a practical front grip make it capable in waves and downwind conditions.
  • Freestyle: Direct control, lift and easy hand movement support jumping, rotations and wing passes.
  • Racing: Fast and efficient, although it is designed as a sporty all-rounder rather than a dedicated race wing.
  • Light wind: The 6.0m offers useful low-end performance, but riders seeking a specialized very-light-wind wing should consider CORE’s larger light-wind options.
