The 2025 F-One ORIGIN V2 is a lightweight and accessible wing built for easy takeoffs, beginner progression and comfortable freeride sessions. Why Choose This Wing?
Easy Beginner Progression
Choose the ORIGIN V2 if you want a stable, forgiving first wing that will continue to support your progression. Its smooth power and controlled speed reduce fatigue and let you concentrate on balance, foil control and transitions.
Effortless Low-End Power
The flexible structure loads and releases efficiently during pumping, helping the wing create early power without demanding perfect technique. This makes takeoffs easier in lighter or inconsistent wind.
Smooth and Comfortable
Power delivery is progressive and easy to control. The ORIGIN absorbs gusts instead of accelerating aggressively, making it comfortable for long freeride sessions and riders who do not enjoy being overpowered.
Light-Wind Versatility
Low weight, easy pumping and sizes through 6.0m² make the ORIGIN a practical light-wind addition to a quiver. It also freeflies efficiently when the breeze is too light for heavier or stiffer wings.
Performance by Riding Style
| Riding Style | Suitability | How It Rides |
|---|---|---|
| Beginner Progression | Excellent | Forgiving flex, smooth power, controlled speed and minimal pumping make takeoffs and early transitions easier. |
| Relaxed Freeride | Excellent | Comfortable and intuitive with low physical demand, making it ideal for long sessions and cruising. |
| Light Wind | Excellent | Efficient low-end power and a 6.0m² option help riders get on foil early without aggressive pumping. |
| Freefly | Very Good | Light and easy to forget about when flagged, especially in lighter wind and mellow swell. |
| Wave Riding | Very Good | Stable and maneuverable for recreational waves, although the more compact SWING offers better dedicated wave handling. |
| Freestyle | Limited | Suitable for transitions and basic tricks, but its softer structure does not create the speed, pop or hangtime of the STRIKE. |
| Speed and Racing | Not Its Focus | Controlled speed prioritizes comfort and accessibility rather than maximum acceleration or race performance. |
Key Construction and Performance Features
Purposeful, Forgiving Flex
The ORIGIN is the softest wing in F-One’s range. Its controlled flex improves pumping efficiency, absorbs gusts and creates a comfortable ride that is less physically demanding.
HITEX and Dacron Airframe
The center strut and two central leading-edge segments on each side use 158g HITEX high-tenacity polyester. The remaining leading-edge segments use lighter 150g Dacron for comfort and reduced weight.
TECHNOFORCE Canopy
The main canopy uses 52g TECHNOFORCE D2, while a heavier 66g version reinforces the trailing edge. Each fabric weight is placed according to the load and durability requirements of that area.
Mylar and Dacron Load Diffuser
Overlapping hard Mylar and Dacron panels at the back of the strut help maintain a smooth profile, improve stability and distribute load through the wing.
Straight Center Strut
The straight strut helps control twisting and deformation while reducing drag. Its extended infill creates a cleaner connection between the strut and canopy.
Staggered Seams and Radial Cuts
Staggered seams distribute tension across the canopy, while radial cuts at the wingtips and rear strut align fibers with major load paths to limit unwanted stretch.
Dacron and HITEX vs. Premium ALUULA
| Feature | ORIGIN V2 | STRIKE V5 ALUULA |
|---|---|---|
| Airframe Materials | 158g HITEX center structure with lightweight 150g Dacron in the remaining leading-edge sections. | Strategic 103g ALUULA center strut and Sweep Control Panel, with HITEX elsewhere. |
| Stiffness | Softer and more flexible for comfort, easy pumping and gust absorption. | Exceptionally stiff for immediate response, acceleration and high-end control. |
| Power Delivery | Smooth, progressive and easy to manage. | Direct, crisp and performance-focused. |
| Low-End Performance | Excellent, with minimal pumping required for takeoff. | Efficient and fast, but designed around higher-performance riding. |
| Speed and High End | Controlled speed with a comfortable, forgiving feel. | Maximum acceleration, upwind angle and powered performance. |
| Best Rider | Beginners, relaxed freeriders and riders who prioritize comfort and low-end power. | Advanced riders seeking premium speed, big air and freestyle response. |
Which F-One Wing Should You Choose?
| F-One Model | Best For | Choose It Instead When... |
|---|---|---|
| ORIGIN V2 | Beginners, easy freeride and low-end power | You want the softest, most forgiving and least physically demanding F-One wing. |
| SWING V5 | Wave riding, downwinders and freefly | You want a more compact outline and better neutral balance while following waves and swell. |
| STRIKE V5 | Performance freeride, speed and freestyle | You prefer a stiffer, faster wing with stronger pop, hangtime and high-wind control. |
| STRIKE V5 ALUULA | Premium speed, big air and advanced freestyle | You want maximum stiffness, lower drag and the most responsive performance construction. |
| STRIKE CWC | Dedicated marginal-wind riding | You need a 6.0–9.0m² light-wind-specific wing with greater power than the ORIGIN 6.0m². |

Handles or Boom?
The ORIGIN V2 uses F-One’s interchangeable control system and is sold without handles. Choose separate handles or the Carbon Boom V2 according to your preferred comfort and level of control.
Soft Handles
The lightest and most forgiving option. Their flexible construction complements the ORIGIN’s comfortable ride and keeps the complete setup easy to pack.
Hybrid Handles
A rigid base keeps the handles from deforming while the soft grip remains comfortable. This is an excellent balance for progressing riders.
Hard or Carbon Handles
Rigid handles provide more direct feedback and precise pumping. Choose them if you want to sharpen the ORIGIN’s response as your skills progress.
Carbon Boom V2
The boom provides continuous hand placement and easy repositioning. Its rigid connection creates efficient pumping and intuitive hand changes during transitions.
| Wing Size | Separate Handle Setup | Carbon Boom V2 |
|---|---|---|
| 2.0–2.5m² | 28cm front / 37cm rear | 78cm |
| 3.0–4.0m² | 30cm front / 37cm rear | 90cm |
| 4.5–5.5m² | 30cm front / 37cm rear | 97cm |
| 6.0m² | 30cm front / 37cm rear | 106cm |
