F-One | Compact light-wind performance

F-One Strike V4 CWC Aluula Wing

Big-wing low-end power with a compact, balanced and surprisingly manageable feel.

The F-One STRIKE V4 CWC Aluula is a dedicated light-wind wing designed to get you foiling earlier without the cumbersome feel normally associated with a large wing. F-One’s Compact Wing Concept places additional sail area into a shorter wingspan, while three lightweight ALUULA struts help reduce drag and rotational inertia. The result is smooth pumping, efficient forward pull, excellent upwind glide and stable handling in marginal wind.

  • Best for: Light wind and freeride
  • Skill level: Beginner to expert
  • Feel: Smooth, stable and efficient
  • Available sizes: 6.0–9.0m

Why Choose This Wing?

Choose the STRIKE V4 CWC if light-wind performance is more important to you than freestyle or high-wind maneuverability. It is particularly well suited to heavier riders, light-wind locations and anyone who wants to spend more time foiling instead of waiting for the wind to increase.

The CWC’s compact three-strut geometry gives it significantly more surface area than a conventional wing with a similar wingspan. That helps keep the wingtips away from the water and makes the 6.0–9.0m sizes easier to pump, recover and maneuver than their surface area might suggest.

Windance recommendation: This is the wing to choose when you need maximum usable low-end power but still want balanced handling, efficient upwind performance and a wing that feels controlled once you are on foil.

How the STRIKE V4 CWC Rides

Early Takeoff and Easy Pumping

The wing responds to each pumping motion with smooth forward drive instead of a sudden, tiring pull. Its combination of sail area, controlled flex and compact geometry helps generate speed efficiently for earlier foil takeoffs.

Smooth Power Delivery

Power is delivered progressively and toward the front of the wing. This creates an efficient pull that helps the board accelerate, glide through wind holes and maintain speed without constantly loading the rider’s arms.

Stable and Balanced in Flight

Added dihedral and carefully managed leading- and trailing-edge tension help keep the profile stable. Once on foil, the wing remains balanced and requires less correction when cruising, going upwind or riding through gusts.

Compact Large-Wing Handling

Two additional struts allow F-One to fit more sail area into a shorter leading edge. The compact wingspan helps keep the tips clear of the water and makes the wing easier to turn over after a fall.

Efficient Glide and Upwind Ability

A straight center strut, thinner ALUULA structure and reduced drag help the CWC accelerate forward rather than pulling excessively sideways. This improves glide, upwind efficiency and control when the wind begins to increase.

Light-Wind Freefly

The ALUULA struts reduce weight and inertia during transitions, jibes and downwind freefly. Although it is not a dedicated wave wing, its balance makes it comfortable to flag while riding swell in marginal conditions.

Hybrid ALUULA Construction Explained

Despite the ALUULA name, the STRIKE V4 CWC does not use ALUULA throughout its entire inflatable frame. It is a carefully balanced hybrid construction that places premium material where it provides the greatest performance benefit.

  • Three ALUULA struts: Reduce weight, diameter, drag and maneuvering inertia while improving responsiveness.
  • HITEX 158g and 178g leading edge: High-tenacity polyester is strategically distributed for shape retention, durability and resistance to elongation.
  • TECHNOFORCE D2 52g canopy: Keeps the main sail area light and responsive.
  • TECHNOFORCE D2 66g trailing edge: Adds reinforcement where tension and flutter loads are higher.
  • Independent inflation zones: Separate valves allow the center strut and leading edge to use pressures appropriate for their different structural loads.
What the premium construction changes: Compared with a conventional polyester center-strut construction, ALUULA helps the three-strut CWC feel lighter in transitions, more responsive while pumping and less cumbersome during freefly.

Handles and Control Options

The STRIKE V4 CWC comes with F-One soft handles pre-installed. Its screwless interchangeable handle system also accepts optional hybrid or rigid F-One handles.

  • Soft handles: Light, comfortable and forgiving during long sessions.
  • Hybrid handles: A balance of comfort and more direct control.
  • Rigid handles: The most precise connection and immediate power response.

Carbon boom compatibility was introduced on the later STRIKE CWC generation and is not listed by F-One for this V4 model.

Best Uses

Light Wind

Its primary purpose. The powerful low end, efficient pumping and compact outline help unlock sessions in approximately 6–20 knots, depending on size and rider setup.

Freeride

Excellent for comfortable cruising, long reaches and efficient upwind riding when the wind is too light for a conventional wing.

Beginner Progression

The stable pull and compact wingspan can make learning easier in steady, lighter wind. It is also a strong progression option for heavier riders who need dependable low-end power.

Freefly and Downwind

Balanced flight and reduced strut inertia make it capable during downwind glides and light-wind swell riding, although smaller wave-focused wings will feel more agile in stronger wind.

Not its main focus: The STRIKE V4 CWC is not designed as a freestyle or racing wing. Riders prioritizing tricks, maximum speed or high-wind maneuverability should consider a smaller standard STRIKE.
