Choose the SlingWing NXT if you want premium Aluula performance, low weight and a highly connected feel without paying for every refinement of Slingshot’s newest NXT generation. Compared with the standard SlingWing V5, the NXT’s Aluula airframe is lighter, stiffer and more resistant to deformation under load. That produces faster acceleration and more immediate response, while the V5 remains the more forgiving and budget-friendly option for progressing riders.
The NXT is not Slingshot’s easiest first wing for a complete beginner. Its direct power and high frame tension reward riders who already have basic wing control and want more performance from every pump, turn and transition.
How the SlingWing NXT Rides
Direct Power and Efficient Pumping
The stiff Aluula frame transfers rider input directly into forward drive. Power arrives smoothly but immediately, helping the wing generate apparent wind and get the foil moving with fewer wasted pumps.
Fast Freeride Performance
A reduced-diameter leading edge and stable high-tension profile help the NXT accelerate efficiently, maintain speed and drive upwind. It feels composed when powered rather than soft or vague through the handles.
Controlled Gust Response
Slingshot tunes the airframe to remain firm through the center while allowing controlled twist toward the tips. The result is strong on-demand power with enough tip response to manage gusts and reduce unwanted pulling.
Compact and Precise Handling
The compact wingspan keeps the tips clear of the water and makes the wing quick through tacks, jibes and freestyle transitions. Smaller riders can also manage the larger sizes more comfortably.
Stable Freefly and Drift
Low frame weight, balanced construction and the elevated front pistol grip make the NXT easy to control while luffing. It settles into a stable neutral position for swell riding, wave riding and downwind freefly.
Usable Low-End Power
The efficient canopy and rigid frame help convert pumping effort into lift. The 5.5, 6.0 and 6.5m sizes provide strong light-wind performance while retaining the compact span and controlled feel of the smaller wings.
Premium Aluula Construction
Instead of a conventional woven-polyester or Dacron-style airframe, the SlingWing NXT uses Aluula laminate throughout its leading edge and strut. Aluula combines high tensile strength with very low stretch, allowing Slingshot to build a smaller-diameter frame that remains exceptionally rigid under load.

Rigid ClickConnect Handles
The SlingWing NXT V1 uses two 400mm SlingGrip ClickConnect handles rather than a full-length boom. The rigid handles deliver precise control while preserving separate front and rear hand positions.
