2026 North Rover Parawing + F-One Rocket Free DW Board Package

Controllable freeride power paired with stable starts and efficient downwind glide.

Build a versatile parawing setup around the 2026 North Rover and F-One ROCKET FREE DOWNWIND board. The Rover provides intuitive power control, useful upwind drive and straightforward pack-away freedom, while the longer, narrow FREE DW board adds the acceleration, glide and stability needed for parawing takeoffs. Choose your Rover and board sizes; a North waist-mounted coiled board leash completes the package.

  • Rover: 3.5 / 4.2 / 5.0m
  • FREE DW: 85 / 95L
  • Bamboo Deck Construction
  • Waist board leash included
  • Hydrofoil sold separately

Best for: riders with established foil control who want an approachable freeride and downwind parawing combination. This is not a first-lesson learn-to-foil package, and it does not include a hydrofoil.

Why Choose This Parawing Package?

A more versatile parawing

The Rover works for freeride exploration as well as downwind runs. Its upwind drive and smooth power control help you reposition, cover distance and make repeated swell runs instead of committing to only one downwind line.

Glide that helps the takeoff

The FREE DW uses its long waterline and stretched outline to accelerate efficiently. That extra glide is especially valuable while developing the timing of parawing-powered takeoffs.

More stability in real conditions

Compared with the FREE SURF, the FREE DW has more thickness, a wider nose and bottom surface, and squarer rails for additional support through standing starts, chop and marginal power.

Foil-friendly leash placement

The included North Waist Board Leash keeps its coiled cord above the water, helping reduce drag while keeping the leash farther from your feet and foil.

What’s Included

Component Included configuration
2026 North Rover Parawing One parawing: choose 3.5, 4.2 or 5.0m. The carbon four-line control bar, on-water backpack and Depower Slider come with the Rover.
2026 F-One ROCKET FREE DW Board One board: choose 6'4 / 85L or 6'8 / 95L. This is the standard Bamboo Deck Construction, not the Carbon model.
North Waist Board Leash One adjustable neoprene-lined waist belt with a fixed 6ft coiled PU board leash.

Not included: hydrofoil, foil-to-board mounting hardware, boardbag, helmet, personal flotation or impact vest, communication and visibility equipment.

Why the Rover and FREE DW Work Together

A good parawing takeoff requires board speed, balance and clean power control at the same time. The Rover supplies smooth traction, responsive steering and accessible depower control. The FREE DW turns that pull into efficient forward acceleration while providing more starting stability than the surf-focused FREE SURF.

Once on foil, the Rover can be packed into its on-water backpack so you can ride the swell hands-free. If you come off foil or need to return upwind, deploy it again and continue the session.

This pairing favors dependable takeoff support, freeride range and efficient downwind glide. Choose the Rover + FREE SURF package instead if you already have confident starts and place greater value on tighter turns and a more compact surf feel.

Choose Your Rocket Free DW Board

Both board options use F-One’s light and durable Bamboo Deck Construction. An installed traction pad, integrated carry handle and adjustable 90mm Twin-Tracks foil mount are built into each size. The Carbon FREE DW is a separate model and is not included here.

Board Dimensions How to choose
6'4 / 85L 6'4 × 19 × 5.5in
193 × 48.3 × 14cm
Approx. 5.4kg / 11.9lb
The more compact and responsive choice for a lighter or more experienced rider who is comfortable with lower volume.
6'8 / 95L 6'8 × 19.5 × 5.6in
203.2 × 49.5 × 14.2cm
Approx. 5.8kg / 12.8lb
More flotation and starting support while retaining the narrow outline and efficient acceleration that define the FREE DW.

Choose by rider weight, balance, foil experience, water state and launch method—not volume alone. The 95L supplies more support than the 85L, but neither is a wide first-time beginner board.

Choose Your North Rover Size

Use the smaller Rover when conditions are stronger or you want less canopy to manage and pack away. Move to a larger size when you need more low-end pull to accelerate the board and rise onto foil. Use these ranges as a practical starting point:

Rover size Wind range Riding emphasis
3.5m 16–26 knots The smaller package option for stronger wind, reduced pack size and riders who can generate takeoff speed efficiently.
4.2m 14–22 knots The central all-round choice, balancing useful takeoff power with manageable size across common parawing conditions.
5.0m 10–15 knots More canopy area for lighter wind and riders who need additional low-end power to accelerate the board.

Treat these wind ranges as a starting point rather than a guarantee. Rider weight, foil size, board volume, technique, current and swell can all change which Rover size feels right on a given day.

Which Parawing Package Is Right for You?

Package Primary focus Best reason to choose it
Rover + FREE DW Freeride versatility, upwind access, stable starts and downwind glide The broadest and most approachable board-and-parawing pairing in this collection.
Rover + FREE SURF Carving, tighter turns and a more surf-focused board feel You already have confident starts and want greater maneuverability once airborne.
Ranger + FREE DW Dedicated downwind riding and a more specialized pack-away approach You want a focused downwind combination rather than the Rover’s broader freeride range.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a hydrofoil included?

No. This board package includes one Rover Parawing, one ROCKET FREE DW board and one North Waist Board Leash. Choose a separate foil with a four-bolt plate mount compatible with the board’s 90mm Twin-Tracks.

Is this a beginner parawing package?

It is the most progression-friendly of our North Rover board pairings, but it is intended for riders who already have dependable foil-height and directional control. A conventional inflatable wing and wider board remain easier for learning to foil from the beginning.

Does the Rover require a pump?

No. The Rover is a non-inflatable parawing controlled through short bridles and the included carbon four-line bar. It does not use an inflatable leading edge or center strut.

What comes with the Rover?

The Rover includes the parawing canopy, carbon control bar, on-water backpack and Depower Slider. An optional parawing stash belt or harness accessory is not part of this package.

Why use a waist board leash?

The included leash positions the coiled cord above the water instead of around the ankle. This helps reduce drag and keeps the cord farther from your feet and foil. Always inspect the leash and attachment points before entering the water.

Is foil mounting hardware included?

No. The board has an industry-standard 90mm Twin-Tracks mount, but the correct screws and track nuts depend on the foil plate being used. Confirm the required hardware before assembly.
