Why Choose the Navigator Pro Gen2?
Automatic Front-Line Unwinding
The front lines automatically untwist as the bar is sheeted out after rotations. This reduces the need to manually unwind the center lines and keeps the system organized during loops, spins and rotational tricks.
Direct SK99 Line Response
Ultra-low-stretch SK99 Dyneema Pro lines reduce drag and transmit steering input efficiently. Different front and rear line diameters balance direct handling with dependable front-line load capacity.
Refined Center Piece
A smooth stainless-steel center piece with a wear-resistant titanium PVD coating provides generous clearance for unrestricted bar travel and consistent auto-unwind performance.
Stronger 2027 Construction
A new fiber-filled polymer internal truss increases bar strength by 20% while maintaining a lightweight structure. Lower rotational inertia helps the bar spin and reset efficiently.
How the Navigator Pro Auto-Unwind Works
Stacked Internal Tubes
The depower main line and landing line run through separate durable TPU tubes stacked front to back. This controlled routing helps the bar rotate freely around the center system.
Automatic Line Untwisting
After a rotation, sheeting the bar out allows the front lines to unwind automatically. The system is designed to operate smoothly across a broad range of water and air temperatures.
Frictionless Bar Rotation
The generous center-piece geometry and titanium-PVD surface reduce interference as the bar rotates, supporting consistent travel and dependable line management.
One-Handed Kite Control
Front-to-back line stacking helps keep the bar balanced and predictable when flying one-handed, allowing the rider to maintain control while adjusting position or preparing for a maneuver.
Auto-unwind manages twists in the front flying lines during normal rotations. Riders must still inspect the landing line, leash and complete safety system before every launch.
SK99 Dyneema Pro Flying Lines
| Line | Diameter | Color | Performance Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Front Lines | 1.55mm | Grey | High-load front-line support with increased resistance to uneven shrinkage |
| Rear Lines | 1.3mm | Blue | Reduced aerodynamic drag and direct steering response |
| Standard Length | 12m + 10m | 22m total | Modular split-line construction for all-around kite performance |
The thinner 1.3mm rear lines are designed to reduce drag and improve steering feedback. Always inspect all flying lines for cuts, abrasion, knots, damaged sleeving or unequal length before use.
Connect V2 Safety System
Safe Connect V2 Quick Release
The Connect V2 features an extra-secure single-action reload mechanism designed for reliable operation and straightforward resetting after release.
Stiffer Security Finger
A firmer security finger helps retain the loop when riding hooked in. Combined with the smaller loop, it is designed to reduce the risk of accidental unhooking or unintended release.
Additional Depower Travel
The smaller Connect V2 loop provides 20mm of additional bar travel, extending the available depower range while keeping the rider connection compact.
Spinning Leash Attachment Ring
The elongated oval leash ring makes the leash carabiner easier to attach and spins to help prevent the landing line from twisting during rotations.
Safety reminder: Practice activating and reloading the Connect V2 Quick Release on land before riding. Follow North’s current user manual and inspect the quick release, security finger, leash and landing line before every session.
Navigator Pro Gen2 Bar Size Guide
| Bar Size | Adjustable Width | North Kite Guidance | General Character |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small | 38–43cm | Kites under 8m | Controlled steering leverage for small, fast-turning kites |
| Medium | 45–50cm | Kites under 11m | Versatile choice for medium-size kites and mixed quivers |
| Large | 50–55cm | Kites above 8m | Additional steering leverage for medium and large kites |
Selection note: North’s recommendations overlap because rider preference and kite design affect steering response. Use the narrower setting for more measured steering or the wider setting for quicker turning. Confirm guidance for your exact kite model.
Adjustable Bar Width
Narrow Setting
Reducing the bar width decreases steering leverage. This helps prevent smaller kites from feeling overly reactive and can provide more controlled input in strong wind.
Wide Setting
Increasing the bar width provides more steering leverage, helping larger kites turn more quickly and giving riders a more immediate response.
To change the bar width, pull out both bar-end cassettes, rotate them 180 degrees and reinstall them securely. Both cassettes must be set to matching positions.
Low-V and High-V Kite Compatibility
Low-V Kites
The Navigator Pro Gen2 uses a Low-V front-line split and equal-length line connectors. It is directly compatible with compatible four-line Low-V bridled kites when the flag-out system and connection geometry match.
High-V Kites
Kites requiring a higher front-line split need North’s compatible High-V Split Kit. The kit changes the front-line split position to suit supported High-V kite designs.
Compatibility qualifier: “Universally compatible” does not mean every kite can be connected without checking its requirements. Confirm front-line split height, equal line length, flag-out travel, pigtail orientation and manufacturer approval before using the bar with another brand. The High-V Split Kit is sold separately.
Grip, Orientation and Trimming
Triple-Comfort EVA Grip
The updated rubberized EVA grip improves comfort and hold across wet, cold and warm conditions. Enhanced abrasion resistance and color retention support long-term everyday use.
Nautical Color Coding
Bold red identifies the port side and blue identifies starboard, making correct bar orientation faster to recognize during relaunches, rotations and demanding conditions.
Tactile Finger Reference
An offset finger ridge lets you identify bar orientation by touch, helping maintain awareness when you cannot look directly at the control system.
Smoother Cleated Trim
The updated power bracket provides smoother on-demand adjustment while reducing trim-line wear. A circular cleat base supports consistent bar rotation and auto-unwind.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Navigator Pro Gen2 automatically untwist the lines?
Yes. Sheeting the bar out after a rotation allows the front lines to unwind automatically through the refined center system. This is a key difference between the Pro and standard Navigator.
Which Navigator Pro bar size should I choose?
North recommends 38–43cm for kites under 8m, 45–50cm for kites under 11m and 50–55cm for kites above 8m. These ranges overlap, so final selection should reflect the kite model and desired steering speed.
Can I use this control bar with another kite brand?
It can work with compatible Low-V four-line kites using equal line lengths and matching flag-out requirements. High-V kites require the compatible High-V Split Kit. Always verify the kite manufacturer’s requirements before use.
What is the difference between SK75 and SK99 lines?
The Pro’s SK99 lines use thinner diameters and ultra-low-stretch construction to reduce drag and deliver more direct feedback. The standard Navigator uses thicker 1.8mm SK75 lines focused on dependable all-around performance.
How long are the included lines?
The package includes 22m Pro lines divided into 12m lower sections and 10m upper sections. Front lines are 1.55mm, while rear lines are 1.3mm.
Is the Freeride Loop included?
Yes. A Connect V2 Freeride Loop and North Standard Leash Pro are included. Compatible Freestyle and Surf Slider loops are sold separately.
What changed for 2027?
The 2027 Navigator Pro receives a stronger fiber-filled internal truss, refined titanium-PVD center piece, improved rubberized grip, updated color retention and smoother trimming action.
Is the Navigator Pro Gen2 ISO certified?
Yes. North lists the 2027 Navigator Pro Gen2 control system as ISO 21853 certified. Correct setup, inspection and operation remain essential for every session.
