Modular Aluminum Hydrofoil Mast

F-One Aluminum Mast

A durable, affordable and fully modular mast section for wing, kite, surf, SUP and wind foiling.

The F-One Aluminum Mast is a versatile mast extrusion for riders who want dependable performance, interchangeable lengths and a lower-cost alternative to carbon. Its precision-extruded 6063 aluminum profile balances glide, bending stiffness and torsional control across a wide range of foil disciplines.

Stainless-steel helicoil inserts at the top and bottom allow the mast to accept compatible F-One board connections and lower mast-foot components. This modular construction makes it easy to change mast length while reusing the appropriate top plate and lower connection.

Why Choose the F-One Aluminum Mast?

Affordable Progression

Aluminum offers a practical entry into the F-One foil system without the premium cost of a Monobloc carbon mast. It is an excellent choice for learning, building a second setup or adding another length to an existing modular F-One mast assembly.

Interchangeable Lengths

The mast profile is separate from the top plate and lower mast foot. Riders can move compatible connection components between different mast lengths instead of purchasing a complete mast assembly for every discipline or location.

Precision-Extruded Profile

F-One precision-extrudes the mast from homogeneous 6063 aluminum. The profile draws on the brand’s kitefoil experience to deliver efficient glide while maintaining the structural strength required for bending and torsional loads.

Multi-Discipline Range

Lengths from 45 to 95 cm cover shallow-water learning, surf foiling, wing foiling, kite foiling and windfoiling. Riders can select the appropriate clearance and leverage without changing foil ecosystems.

Modular Connections

Two stainless-steel helicoil inserts at both ends secure compatible connecting parts. Depending on the setup, F-One offers plate, KF, Deep KF and Tuttle board connections along with lower components for FCT, original TITAN or TITAN 2 foil systems.

Serviceable System

Because the mast, board connection and lower mast foot are separate pieces, an individual component can be changed when switching systems or replacing worn equipment. This makes the aluminum platform especially useful for schools, families and frequently used setups.

Size Guide

Mast Length Approx. Inches Best For Why Choose This Size
45 cm 17.7 in First foil flights, shallow water, wake foiling and controlled teaching environments. The shortest Windance option reduces leverage and keeps the foil closer to the surface, making touchdowns and early progression less intimidating.
55 cm 21.7 in Beginner surf, SUP, wake and shallow-water foil sessions. Adds useful ride-height range over the 45 cm while remaining compact, approachable and easier to manage than a full-length mast.
65 cm 25.6 in Wing-foil progression, surf foiling, SUP foiling and smaller conditions. A forgiving progression length with enough clearance for moderate surface movement and enough responsiveness for carving and pumping.
75 cm 29.5 in All-around wing, surf, SUP and kite foiling. The most versatile option for riders combining multiple disciplines. It provides practical swell clearance without the leverage or starting difficulty of a very tall mast.
80 cm 31.5 in Everyday wing foiling, freeride kite foiling and riders moving beyond progression lengths. A balanced modern wing-foil length with additional banking and chop clearance while remaining more manageable than an 85 or 95 cm mast.
85 cm 33.5 in Experienced wing riders, kite foiling, windfoiling and open-water conditions. Provides more room to bank, heel over and cross larger chop. Choose it when your local conditions regularly overwhelm shorter mast lengths.
95 cm 37.4 in Kite foiling, windfoiling, racing and advanced high-speed riding in deep water. Maximum clearance and banking freedom in the range, but with more leverage and more demanding starts than shorter sizes.
Our recommendation: Choose 65 cm for early wing progression, 75 cm for the most versatile multi-discipline setup, 80 or 85 cm for general wing foiling in chop, and 95 cm primarily for experienced kite or windfoil riders who need maximum clearance.

Aluminum vs. F-One Carbon Masts

Mast Best For Why Choose It Primary Tradeoff
F-One Aluminum Mast
Best Value
Beginners, schools, multi-length setups, travel backups and riders prioritizing affordability. Modular construction, replaceable connection parts and seven useful lengths at the lowest cost. Heavier and less reactive than F-One’s Monobloc carbon masts; requires separate top and lower connection parts.
Carbon Mast 16 – T2 Freeride, surf and all-around riders wanting a direct carbon upgrade. A 16 mm Monobloc profile provides lighter weight, improved response and an integrated TITAN 2 connection without moving to premium HM or UHM carbon. More expensive and less modular than aluminum.
HM Carbon Mast 14 – T2 Performance riders seeking a strong balance of glide, stiffness and control. The thinner 14 mm HM profile reduces drag while maintaining excellent torsional response. It is the premium all-around choice for most advanced riders. Higher cost and less absolute rigidity than the UHM 14.
UHM Carbon Mast 14 – T2 Larger, powerful or highly demanding riders using high-aspect foils. Maximum bending and torsional stiffness for the most direct foil feedback and control under heavy loads. Premium price; riders who do not load the mast heavily may not benefit enough over HM 14.
UHM Carbon Mast 12 – T2 Downwind, speed and glide-focused riders prioritizing minimum hydrodynamic drag. The thinnest F-One carbon profile maximizes glide and efficiency for fast, performance-oriented foiling. Less torsional rigidity than UHM 14, making it less appropriate when maximum locked-in control is the priority.
Which should you buy? Choose aluminum for value, progression and modularity. Choose Carbon 16 for a durable all-around carbon upgrade, HM 14 for the best premium balance, UHM 14 for maximum control, or UHM 12 for minimum drag and downwind glide.

TITAN, TITAN 2 & FCT Compatibility

Original TITAN Foils

Use the compatible original TITAN aluminum mast foot when connecting this mast profile to an original TITAN fuselage. The original TITAN foot does not fit the newer TITAN 2 connection.

TITAN 2 Foils

Existing F-One aluminum mast profiles can be adapted to the newer system by installing the appropriate TITAN Mast Foot V2. This lets riders retain the aluminum mast while upgrading the lower connection.

FCT Foils

FCT setups use their own lower connection arrangement and are not affected by the change from original TITAN to TITAN 2. Use only the F-One component specified for the exact FCT fuselage and mast configuration.

Board Connections

The mast can accept compatible F-One plate, KF, Deep KF or Tuttle upper components. Select the top connection that matches your board; it is not automatically included with this mast-only product.

Compatibility warning: The mast extrusion is modular, but the upper board connection and lower foil connection must match your exact board and fuselage generation. Do not assume original TITAN and TITAN 2 parts are interchangeable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a complete foil mast?

No. This product is the aluminum mast extrusion only. A compatible board connection, lower mast foot and mounting hardware are required to complete the mast assembly.

Can I use it with a TITAN 2 foil?

Yes, when fitted with the correct TITAN Mast Foot V2. The original TITAN mast foot is not compatible with a TITAN 2 fuselage.

Can I reuse my top plate and mast foot?

Yes, provided both components are designed for this F-One modular aluminum mast and match the board and foil connection being used. Inspect the inserts and hardware before transferring components.

How should I care for an aluminum mast?

Rinse and dry the mast after saltwater use. Regularly disassemble and inspect connections, and use the corrosion-isolation product recommended by F-One when stainless-steel, aluminum and carbon components meet.
