Foil Drive Assist MAX+ brings a 43.2V Gen2.5 platform to the compact MAX format. Built for surf foiling, flatwater starts, pumping practice, wake riding and assisted upwind access, this Base Kit gives you the core MAX+ system while allowing you to select the battery and motor configuration separately.
This Base Kit is not ride-ready by itself. It does not include a battery or motor. Add one compatible FM+ 650 battery plus a compatible motor, cable, propellers and mounting solution or integrated mast before use.

Complete your setup: Add the Retro-fit High Power Motor Kit, or choose the Assist MAX+ Complete Kit if you want the MAX+ unit, FM+ 650 battery and High Power retrofit motor together. If you already own Foil Drive components, send us the model names or photos so we can check compatibility.

About thrust ratings: Foil Drive lists up to 35.5 kg maximum thrust for a specified, fully configured MAX+ system with a High Power motor. This No Motor kit cannot produce thrust until a compatible motor setup is added; performance depends on the finished configuration.
Battery and Motor Compatibility
- Required battery: one separately sold FM+ 650 installs directly in the Assist MAX+ unit.
- Battery adaptor: MAX+ does not need an FM+ Battery Adaptor. That adaptor is for using an FM+ battery with Foil Drive Fusion.
- Gen2 Assist MAX: its 40V batteries and chargers are not interchangeable with the 43.2V MAX+ system.
- Fusion 860: this battery does not fit MAX+.
Before ordering: Check that your cart contains the Base Kit, one FM+ 650 battery and the correct motor configuration unless you already own confirmed-compatible parts. Also verify your mast brand, board, foil, motor generation and cable length. Windance can help confirm the complete setup before you buy.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this Assist MAX+ Base Kit include a motor?
No. This is the No Motor configuration. You need a compatible motor, cable, propellers and suitable mounting solution or integrated mast before using the system on the water.
Is the FM+ 650 battery included?
No. The direct-fit FM+ 650 battery is required and sold separately. Add one battery to your order, or choose the Assist MAX+ Complete Kit that bundles the battery and High Power retrofit motor with the Base Kit.
Can I use my original Assist MAX battery or charger?
No. The Gen2 Assist MAX uses a 40V system. MAX+ uses 43.2V Gen2.5 batteries and charging hardware.
Can I use a motor I already own?
Possibly, depending on the exact motor, cable and mounting components. Send Windance your existing component names or photos so we can check compatibility before you order.
Is 35.5 kg of thrust available with this kit as sold?
No. That manufacturer rating applies to a specified complete MAX+ setup with an FM+ 650 battery and High Power motor. This listing includes neither component.
